Jardine Matheson (Jardines) today announced that Matthew Bishop will become Group Treasurer with effect from 1 January 2019. He succeeds Craig Beattie, who as previously announced will be taking up the role of Chief Financial Officer of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group from 31 October 2018.
Matthew Bishop brings some 20 years of finance and multinational experience to the role. Prior to his current role as Finance Director of Jardine Motors Group in the UK, he held finance roles within Jardine Pacific in Asia. Previously, he was a diplomat with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Beijing and London. Matthew holds a law degree and is a chartered accountant.
