The Jardines Board and senior management engage with portfolio company boards to ensure that sustainability is integrated into business strategy, capital allocation, and major decisions. The boards hold ultimate responsibility for risk management, supported by audit committees that oversee these activities, including sustainability and climate-related risks.

The Jardines Board frames our Group-wide sustainability narrative and priorities, ensuring they address external trends and risks. We align our portfolio companies with these priorities while holding their management accountable for performance. Externally, we engage with stakeholders and transparently report on our progress, ensuring our actions and communications consistently reflect our sustainability commitments.

The Audit Committee assists the Board in overseeing the Group's principal risks, including those that are climate-related. It also reviews external and internal assurance of the sustainability data and governance disclosures in our annual  Sustainability Report.

The Sustainability Leadership Council (SLC), chaired by Executive Chairman Ben Keswick, comprises senior leaders from across our portfolio companies. It drives our sustainability strategy by sharing best practices, monitoring risks and opportunities, and ensuring consistent integration of sustainability into all business operations.

Designated working groups, comprised of colleagues from across our businesses, drive the execution of our sustainability strategy. For each strategic pillar, they develop initiatives, create synergies between our portfolio companies, and share knowledge Group-wide.

HKL - Exchange Square and Jardine House

The Sustainability team drives the development and implementation of Jardines’ sustainability strategy. It supports the Board, senior management, and portfolio companies by setting targets, monitoring emerging issues, and providing expert guidance. The team also collaborates with key Group functions to integrate sustainability across all operations, from finance and risk to communications and governance.
