Preceded by the project of programmable logic controllers' replacement for Baggage Handling System (BHS), JEC has been awarded another significant contract from Airport Authority Hong Kong to construct two BHS for arrival bags delivery and early bag storage at the Hong Kong International Airport.
JEC will design, supply and install the Automation of Arrival Bags Delivery and deliver associated E&M and system works in the Baggage Reclaim Hall and Remote Transfer Facilitates of Terminal 1 (T1), Midfield Concourse and North Destination Coded Vehicle Tunnel. We are also responsible for the design, supply and installation of Early Bag Storage System in T1 Baggage Reclaim Hall and new T1 Annex Building. Major works of this project include conveyor equipment provision and necessary structural works.
The installation, which has commenced since April 2017, will help to improve the efficiency of bags transfer from Midfield Concourse to Terminal 1. The project is expected to complete in August 2019.
