#learning doesn't stop at the Jardine Foundation
Jardine Scholar, Renzo Lam from Hong Kong developed a code that empowers the BAS-RBM to calculate accumulated charges on satellites, providing valuable insights for satellite design and devising orbital manoeuvres for risk mitigation. This is part of a research to enhance predictive capabilities of the British Antarctic Survey Radiation Belt Model (BAS-RBM), that provides an important reference to protect our satellite infrastructure from intense radiation during solar events.Renzo commented, “Replicating the real-time environment for the Kp model proved to be a daunting task, in addition to the labour-intensive process of comprehending, and debugging the intricate coding labyrinth of this expansive project, and the outcome has an invaluable impact.”
The Jardine Foundation is now offering full-ride Scholarships to pursue studies at top universities in Hong Kong, Indonesia, in addition to the UK.
