Doing good deeds does not always start with big steps. Even small steps can benefit many people and are often far more useful for the community, especially in the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many young people are selfless fighters who have done good during the COVID-19 pandemic, who are making movements to fight COVID-19 for the surrounding community.
As a sign of appreciation and support from Astra, Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards, which is 11 years old this year, launched an additional special appreciation category, namely "Selfless Fighters During the COVID-19 Pandemic." Appreciation will be given to five young people who have struggled selflessly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to deal with social impacts throughout Indonesia.
"Some of us have thought that sharing can only be done when we have money. But it turns out that a lot of what young people are doing in fighting COVID-19 has benefited the surrounding community. We believe that out there many young people struggle selflessly like them. In the end, we know that sharing is not measured in nominal terms but is a matter of sincerity, ”said Astra's Chief of Corporate Affairs, Riza Deliansyah.
Just like the recipients of appreciation at the national level, selfless fighters during the COVID-19 pandemic who were selected as recipients of appreciation will each receive activity funding of IDR 60 million and activity coaching.
The terms and conditions for the special appreciation category "Selfless Fighters During the COVID-19 Pandemic" are as follows:
Maximum 35 years old
Individual or group (minimum 3 people)
Activities must be original
Have never received a national / international award
Not an employee of the Astra Group and partner SATU Indonesia Awards
The hope is that with this special appreciation category, Astra can attract more young people who deserve to be appreciated for their efforts that always provide benefits to the surrounding community. The registration period for the SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 is open from March 2 - August 2, 2020 through www.satu-indonesia.com.
Currently, around 15 recipients of the SATU Indonesia Awards from previous years are now working together for Indonesia to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from west to eastern Indonesia.
Like Muhammad Aripin (Recipient of SIA 2016 appreciation for Entrepreneurship) in Banjarmasin, he came up with the idea to sew cloth masks since the emergence of this pandemic. Trisno (Recipient of SIA 2015 appreciation for the Environment) in Semarang Regency made a movement to prevent the spread of COVID-19 so that it does not enter his village.
There is a midwife named Rosmiati (recipient of the SATU Indonesia Awards 2012 in Health) in a remote area in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau, who has to take a boat to and fro to visit residents there to provide counseling on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
No less persistence than Rosmiati, a midwife in Talanganau, West Sumatra named Hardinisa Syamitri (recipient of the 2013 SATU Indonesia Awards for Health), continued to visit residents one by one to convey information about the dangers of COVID-19.
Their enthusiasm for fighting is in line with Astra's aspirations to prosper with the nation.
