Jardine Engineering Corporation (JEC) continues to nurture the next generation of talented young engineers and encourage them to excel with its Outstanding Engineering Project Awards (OEPA), which are presented to teams of engineering students with pragmatic and imaginative engineering solutions.

Now in its 11th year, OEPA aims to encourage future engineers to embrace changes for improvement and to be innovative. Widely recognized by universities in Hong Kong, OEPA has seen over 1,000 engineering students from different institutions take part in the event over the past decade.

As part of their training, the latest batch of JEC’s Management Trainees were empowered to take charge of this year’s OEPA event with the objective of helping them to acquire and practice their planning, organizing, project management and communications skills. A total of 25 project entries were received with seven teams chosen as finalists in contention for the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. Industry experts joined JEC’s senior management team as judges.

“JEC is committed to making a positive impact in the communities and territories where it operates,” said JEC Chief Executive Wilson Kwong. “Through OEPA, JEC offers a platform to support young engineers in developing their talent and creativity.”
