Jardine Matheson to Offer HK$10 Million in Incentives to Promote Vaccination

Embedding sustainability

Jardine Matheson today announced that it would offer HK$10 million in incentives to support the ongoing vaccination drive in the community, to accelerate the ease of travel restrictions, aide the recovery of the economy, and safeguard the well- being of the people of Hong Kong. The incentives will be administered through a community lucky draw hosted by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC).

Dr YK Pang, Deputy Managing Director and Hong Kong Chairman of Jardine Matheson, said, “We believe that vaccination offers Hong Kong and its people the best path back to normal through building up herd immunity, and we want to encourage the take-up rate of vaccinations through this programme. Vaccination is the most important step in our fight against the pandemic and is key to helping us to enjoy again the things we miss, protecting our families, saving jobs, and to enabling Hong Kong to return to being the healthy and thriving city that we are all proud of.”

Prizes worth around HK$10 million will be offered, including three Mercedes Benz cars, and a wide range of shopping, dining and staycation vouchers from Hongkong Land, Mandarin Oriental, Maxim’s, Wellcome, Mannings, IKEA, Pizza Hut and KFC.

The lucky draw will be open between July and September for all Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above holding a valid HKID card who have received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccinations at the time they enter the lucky draw. Further details on the lucky draw and full list of prizes will be announced by HKGCC in due course.

In addition to the lucky draw, Jardine Matheson is also supporting COVID-19 vaccination roll-out via a number of staff incentives, which include providing flexibility to employees to take time out during work hours to get vaccinated or bring elderly parents to get vaccinated, up to two additional days of paid vaccination leave following the vaccination, as well as educational webinars with medical experts to help employees make an informed decision on vaccinations.
