Dairy Farm CARE Raises Funds for MINDSET
Members of the Dairy Farm Group 7-Eleven, IKEA, Mannings and Wellcome have raised funds for MINDSET through CARE 2009, a campaign which involved 1,400 of their retail outlets and the public.
Altogether HK$800,000 was raised with HK$600,000 and HK$200,000 donated to MINDSET and Benji's Centre, respectively. Benji's Centre provides professional speech therapy to children from low income families. The campaign followed the success of Dairy Farm's 2008 JUMP Festival.
CARE 2009 was launched with an outdoor event - 'Planting Seeds of Love' at the organic New Life Farm in Tuen Mun, which provides agricultural work training for those with psychiatric disabilities. Dr Cheung Hung-kin, Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Psychiatrists, shared insightful tips on how to lead a healthy life with the 200 guests who attended.
"Dairy Farm has grown together with Hong Kong, and we are very committed to giving back to our community," said North Asia Regional Director Caroline Mak. "CARE 2009 gave participants an opportunity to immerse in nature, leaving everyday stress behind. This approach complements the Dairy Farm Group's management philosophy of healthy living."
