Promoting MINDSET's Spirit to CityU Students
On 28th March 2009, Danny Luk, Human Resources Director of Schindler Lifts (Hong Kong) Limited who was once a Jardine Ambassador was invited by the City University of Hong Kong to share his experience in advocating mental health among some 20 students in the Master of Social Sciences in Counselling.
In this one-hour session, Mr Luk introduced to students the work of MINDSET and the ways in which the Jardine Ambassadors are driving this initiative in support of mental health related organizations and projects. One area in particular that interested students most was how the Jardine Ambassadors promoted the Job Training Programme within the Jardine Matheson Group to provide training and employment opportunities to people recovered from mental illness, and the challenges they faced in the process.
Students were positive about the contributions that MINDSET has made to the Hong Kong community, as well as Mr Luk's sharing of his experience in getting along with people with mental illness and in promoting the Job Training Programme in his company and within the Group. They all shared the same feeling that the stigma on mental illness can be removed if more people or corporations can work for the betterment of this disadvantaged group.
與城市大學學生分享「思健」精神
曾為怡和親善大使的迅達升降機(香港)有限公司人力資源董事陸秋明應香港城市大學邀請，在三月二十八日，向大約二十名就讀社會科學系碩士輔導課程的學生分享「思健」的工作，以及如何在怡和集團內及社區中推廣精神健康活動的經驗。
陸秋明在這一小時的環節裡向同學介紹「思健」如何透過怡和親善大使舉行各項慈善活動，以支援推動精神健康的機構及項目。 當中同學最感興趣的是怡和親善大使如何面對困難和挑戰，向怡和集團旗下公司推廣及鼓勵他們推行提供就業及培訓機會予精神康復者的「就業和培訓計劃」。
同學均讚揚「思健」對香港社群作出的貢獻，並感謝陸秋明抽空向大家分享他與精神康復者相處及其在迅達和集團內推動「就業和培訓計劃」的多方面經驗。各人均相信，更多機構和有心人攜手推廣精神健康活動，將可減少社會上對這班弱勢社群的歧視和不公。
